Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a Grocery Department Manager to lead department operations, drive sales, and ensure quality and safety standards across our stores. You will oversee hiring, training, and performance, manage inventory, and coordinate with upper management to optimize store performance.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced retail environment, and a commitment to customer service and food safety.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Partners must be 21+ to drive for Company business.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Manager Food Safety certification required.
• AML certification required.
• Fuel Operator C training required.
• HIPAA certification required.
• TABC/LACT/AATC certification required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing, hiring, training and developing partners; planning, assigning, directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining partners; scheduling; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Reviewing historical data to predict future sales from ads and promotions; managing inventory to maintain in-stock levels; reviewing profit/loss, sales, shrink, and labor data; reporting issues to upper management.
• Maintaining and improving sales performance, financial results, public relations, product quality, and work standards.
• Inspecting product quality and food safety; ensuring dating and rotation.
• Promoting product sales through suggestive selling and displays.
• Maintaining stock conditions on grocery racks and shelves.
• Checking truck inventory, unloading, and ensuring accuracy of orders and paperwork.
• Opening/closing the store; ensuring adequate staff; safeguarding cash and assets.
• Providing friendly customer service and responding to questions/complaints; maintaining clean and safe environment.
