Job summary

Safeway in the United States is seeking a Grocery Department supervisor to assist the Grocery Manager and the Third Person in daily operations. You will help supervise staff, handle ordering, receiving, stocking and merchandising, and ensure accurate pricing and rotation.

Work involves opening/closing the store, potential back-up cashier duties, and upholding company standards for sanitation, safety and customer service while leading a team to meet store goals.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist Grocery Manager and Third Person in planning and directing day-to-day Grocery Department operations.
• Order, receive, store, price, rotate and merchandise products; help implement policies.
• Control shrink and ensure correct pricing; maintain sanitation and safety.
• Open and close the store; may act as back-up cashier; engage in suggestive selling.
• Lead with honesty and integrity; perform other duties as assigned.
