Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Lead Night Crew Manager to oversee the Grocery Department’s nightly operations, ensure pricing accuracy, shelving standards, and customer service excellence. You will guide associates, plan shifts, and drive daily sales while maintaining a safe, organized store environment.

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll execute planograms, manage inventory, train staff, and respond quickly to issues, delivering a consistent, high‑quality shopping experience for our customers.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a grocery department or retail team.
• Strong customer-service mindset and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coach and develop staff and manage schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nightly operations of the Grocery Department with focus on customer service, sales, and readiness
• Provide friendly, prompt customer service and resolve concerns professionally
• Maintain shelves, displays, and aisles per company standards and ensure in-stock conditions
• Execute planograms and promotional sets and manage weekly ad merchandising
• Manage ordering, inventory, rotation, and backroom organization
• Monitor shrink and implement loss-prevention procedures
• Ensure compliance with food safety and safety standards
• Hire, train, and develop associates and foster a positive team environment
