Job summary

Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager to oversee the Grocery department in the Grocery Manager's absence. You will ensure receiving, pricing, merchandising and customer service meet our high standards while mentoring staff and upholding cooperative values.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily operations, maintaining orderliness, managing vendor relations, and contributing to training and performance feedback.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of customer service experience.
• 2+ years purchasing, handling, or merchandising products.
• 1+ years' experience managing teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong math and numerical skills for handling pricing and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Uphold Co-op policies, procedures and expectations.
• Deliver exceptional customer experience and maintain welcoming service standards.
• Under Grocery Manager direction, ensure day-to-day department operations run efficiently and staff performance meets targets.
• Exceed customer expectations and maintain a professional, friendly environment.
• Maintain neat, clean, and organized work areas in all grocery spaces.
• Manage product receiving, storage, pricing and merchandising per procedures; maintain vendor relations.
• Develop and deliver trainings; provide coaching and performance feedback to staff.
