Responsibilities

1. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
2. Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality for freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
3. Promote trust and respect among team members.
4. Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
5. Maintain knowledge of products sold and respond to customer inquiries and suggestions.
6. Greet, engage, and assist customers.
7. Inform customers of grocery specials.
8. Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
9. Report discrepancies in product ordering, shipping, and pricing to management.
10. Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
11. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks).
12. Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
13. Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs as required.
14. Ensure safety procedures are followed, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
15. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
16. Report customer or employee accidents.
17. Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
18. Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling carts, bending, and climbing.
19. Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
20. Manage conflicts cooperatively and act with honesty and integrity.
21. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
22. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
