Responsibilities include:

• Informing customers about food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
• Checking product quality, including freshness and 'sell by' dates, and taking appropriate actions.
• Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
• Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
• Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
• Staying current with advertising campaigns, seasonal, and special promotions.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperature logs in cases and coolers.
• Gaining product knowledge to assist and make suggestions to customers.
• Creating a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.
• Reinforcing safety programs and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Practicing preventive maintenance and notifying management of equipment issues.
