Responsibilities include:

• Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
• Checking product quality and reviewing "sell by" dates, taking appropriate action when necessary.
• Providing customers with ordered products, both fresh and non-perishable.
• Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
• Reporting product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Staying current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keeping temperature logs.
• Gaining product knowledge and responding to customer questions with suggestions.
• Creating a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.
• Reinforcing safety programs, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
• Practicing preventive maintenance and notifying management of equipment issues.
• Reporting customer or employee accidents promptly.
• Working cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
