Responsibilities include:
- Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
- Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action to ensure freshness.
- Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the manager.
- Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs.
- Develop product knowledge to assist customers effectively and make suggestions.
- Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
- Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and non-confrontationally.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
