Responsibilities include:
- Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
- Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
- Provide customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the manager.
- Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
- Gain product knowledge to answer questions and make suggestions.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
- Perform preventive maintenance and notify management of repairs needed.
- Report customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and ethically.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed.
- Support and assist vulnerable populations, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
