Grocery Clerk (Finance)

Responsibilities:

• Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
• Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
• Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, including maintaining proper temperatures and logs in cases and coolers.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department, respond to questions, and make suggestions.
• Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel important and appreciated.
• Promote safety by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
• Practice preventive maintenance, inspect equipment, and report repairs.
• Notify management of accidents, safety risks, or illegal activities such as theft or fraud.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
