Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Understanding of store operations preferred.
• Willing to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Certified Food Safety Manager or willingness to obtain accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provide ongoing performance management and appraisals.
• Daily management of labor and coaching to achieve productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership to promote Food Lion values and store culture.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Ensure exceptional customer service and a positive shopping experience.
• Control store expenses through proper ordering and inventory practices.
• Understand and use company tools and reports to drive decisions.
• Maintain appearance, quality, sanitation and safety in the Grocery Department.
• Ensure scheduling supports extraordinary customer service at all times.
• Monitor compliance with policies, safety standards and regulations.
• Assist with physical inventory and shrink control.
