Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a friendly Checker in our Grocery department. You will operate the register, assist customers throughout the store, and help ensure every visit ends on a positive note.

Responsibilities include processing payments, maintaining accurate cash handling, stocking and organizing merchandise, and supporting special promotions. No formal education required; on‑the‑job training provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a cash register and handle various payment types.
• Strong communication and friendly, helpful demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and provide prompt service.
• Operate the cash register and process cash, cards, checks, and other payment types.
• Count back change and issue receipts; handle refunds or credits as needed.
• Follow guidelines for WIC, food stamps, tobacco, liquor, and lottery sales where applicable.
• Bag merchandise, assist with courtesy services, and support drive‑up or carry‑out.
• Keep shelves clean, stock and rotate items, and know weekly ad prices and promos.
• Maintain cash drawer accuracy and report discrepancies; assist with safety and security.
