Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is hiring a Checker in the Grocery department. You will operate the register, assist customers, and help ensure a smooth checkout experience. This hourly role emphasizes friendly service, accuracy, and adherence to store guidelines. Training provided; wage starts at $15.00–$18.75 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers and making every visit great.
Operate the cash register accurately and process all payment types.
Count back change, issue receipts, and handle refunds when needed.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines for WIC, food stamps, tobacco, liquor, and lottery.
Stock, face, and rotate merchandise; assist with drive-up and carry-out service.
Stay knowledgeable of item lookup numbers, department numbers, and weekly ad price changes.
