Hy-Vee Inc. in our Grocery department is seeking a friendly Checker to operate the register, assist customers, and help ensure every visit ends on a great note. If you enjoy working with people and take pride in doing things right, we'd love to have you join us.

No education or previous experience is required; we provide training. This hourly role includes night and weekend shifts, supports store safety, promotions, and accurate cash handling while delivering a helpful smile in every aisle.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile.
• Operate the cash register and process payments of all types.
• Count back change, issue receipts, and handle refunds or credits.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines (WIC, tobacco, etc.).
• Stock and rotate merchandise, keep shelves clean, and assist customers.
• Verify balances at start and end of shifts; maintain register area cleanliness.
• Assist with displays, promotions, and other store activities as needed.
