Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Checker to be the last friendly face customers see as they exit the store. You will operate the register, assist shoppers across the store, and help ensure every visit ends on a positive note.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing various payment methods, handling refunds, and keeping the area neat while adhering to policy standards for WIC, SNAP, tobacco, liquor and lottery.

Qualifications

• No education or experience required; training provided.
• Able to operate the register and process multiple payment types.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and count back change.
• Follow policies for WIC, SNAP, tobacco, liquor and lottery.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly service.
• Operate cash register and process payments (cash, card, WIC, SNAP).
• Count back change, issue receipts, and handle refunds.
• Keep register area clean; assist with displays and shelf upkeep.
• Follow safety guidelines and report issues to management.
