Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent in grocery procurement or related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 4 years of experience in grocery retail buying or related field.

Responsibilities

• Procures assigned product lines to maximize overall profitability.
• Maintains proper inventory levels to ensure high service levels.
• Negotiates with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and vendor programs.
• Communicates with operations and marketing to align promotions and product availability.
• Analyzes market trends and track category profitability.
• Completes category reviews and implements new item selections.
• Cultivates effective relationships with suppliers and sales reps.
• Monitors SKU integrity and data entry accuracy.
• Reports on sales and profitability of assigned lines.
• Assists in cost reduction opportunities and backhaul options.
