Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an experienced grinder to set up and operate internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work.

You will perform difficult grinding tasks across all grinder types, ensuring tight tolerances and precise fixtures, and you will set up truing devices for threaded forms, selecting speeds, feeds and grinding wheels.

Qualifications

• Three years of production grinding experience including setup.
• Able to set up and operate multiple grinders and perform difficult grinding tasks.
• Must hold tolerances with exact fixturing and setups.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work.
• Perform difficult grinding work on any type of grinder.
• Grind steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads.
• Set up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads; selects speeds, feeds and wheels.
• Holds work to required tolerances with exact fixtures, rests or blocks.

• Must be able and is required to perform any type of difficult grinding work on any and all types grinders.
• Grinds steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads.
• Must be able to set up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads. Selects proper speeds, feeds, and wheels.
• Holds work to required tolerances. Setups are exacting, usually requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests or blocks.

Tools & Equipment Used:

• All types of grinders, machinists’ hand tools, precision measuring instruments.

Experience & Other Requirements:

• Three years of production grinding experience including setup.
