Job summary

LCRA Transmission Services Corporation seeks a Reliability Engineer/Associate to safeguard the Texas grid by analyzing equipment performance, investigating health, and driving proactive strategies to prevent outages.

You’ll collaborate with operations and maintenance, leverage Power BI and SQL for real-time monitoring, and develop robust preventive schedules to boost asset reliability across critical transmission assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science.
• Four or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job.
• Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Leverage data visualization tools (Power BI, SQL) to monitor transmission equipment health, identify trends, and drive condition-based maintenance strategies.
• Investigate equipment failures and system incidents to determine root causes, implementing corrective and preventive measures to eliminate recurrence.
• Partner with maintenance teams to optimize preventive schedules, develop robust procedures, and extend the operational life of transmission assets.
• Conduct reliability assessments to pinpoint vulnerabilities, designing mitigation strategies against extreme weather, cyber threats, and other disruptions.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and construction departments to align asset management strategies and reliability goals.
• Identify process inefficiencies and develop technical solutions to enhance system reliability and performance.
