Job summary

On Grid Infrastructure Services in Galveston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer to support safe, reliable operation of refinery assets and to lead equipment reliability, maintenance optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the refinery.

This role collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, Projects, and Contractors to reduce equipment failures, improve asset availability, and strengthen Mechanical Integrity programs while driving measurable reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of reliability/maintenance experience in refining, petrochemical or heavy industrial settings.
• Experience with RCFA, RCFA/RCM tools, and API/ASME standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability improvement initiatives for fixed and rotating equipment.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain equipment reliability strategies and maintenance plans.
• Analyze equipment performance trends, maintenance history and failure data.
• Establish equipment criticality rankings and risk-based maintenance strategies.
• Support refinery Mechanical Integrity programs and regulatory compliance?
• Review inspection findings and develop repair recommendations.
• Support fitness-for-service evaluations and risk assessments.
• Ensure Mechanical Integrity action items are tracked to completion.
• Provide engineering support for pumps, compressors, motors, gearboxes, fans and blowers.
• Investigate equipment failures and recurring reliability issues.
• Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Support vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and condition monitoring activities.
• Develop reliability improvement plans and corrective actions.
