Job summary

Dominion Energy seeks an engineer to support grid planning, load projections, and reliability improvements across distribution circuits and substations. You will perform load-flow analyses with Synergi, develop project scopes, and collaborate with ROC and Operations on outages.

Field visits and infrared patrols are required to ensure system performance. The role offers hybrid work with office days and in-field responsibilities, plus opportunities to contribute to reliability and power quality

Qualifications

• Associate Engineer: 0-2 years of directly related engineering experience
• Engineer: 3+ years of directly related engineering experience
• Senior Engineer: 5+ years of directly related engineering experience
• Engineering Technical Specialist I: 0-2 years of directly related technical experience
• Engineering Technical Specialist II: 3+ years of directly related technical experience
• Engineering Technical Specialist III: 5+ years of directly related technical experience
• Ability to work in field, travel up to 25%, and apply engineering concepts to complex problems

Responsibilities

• Support Grid Planning Modeling Team on developing annual facility load projections for distribution circuits and transformers
• Identify normal thermal overload conditions using load projections
• Utilize Synergi to perform load flow modeling for reliability
• Develop project scopes and cost estimates to address overloads and improve reliability
• Provide technical assistance for outages and field operations as needed
• Travel to company offices and conduct field patrols and infrared inspections
