Job summary

M2X Energy seeks a Power Systems Engineer to own electrical power end-to-end for project sites and modular gas-to-methanol plants. You will bridge utility interconnections with onboard power electronics, owning designs from concept through commissioning.

You will lead site power development, design interconnections, and specify switchgear, transformers, and protection. You’ll also develop the onboard power conversion architecture and coordinate with utilities and EPC partners.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in electrical engineering.
• 5+ years in power systems, power electronics, or utility interconnection with hands-on design.
• Experience with interconnection processes and utility coordination.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and IEEE 1547 interconnection requirements.
• Proficiency with electrical design tools (SKM, ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical).

Responsibilities

• Own electrical power infrastructure at project sites from assessment to commissioning.
• Lead utility interconnection activities including load studies and service upgrades.
• Design site electrical infrastructure: switchgear, transformers, panels, protection, metering.
• Plan behind-the-meter generation alongside grid service.
• Create single-line diagrams, load lists, short-circuit studies, and EPC packages.
• Coordinate interconnection studies and permit timelines across sites.
• Interface with utility engineers, EPCs, and AHJs for power matters.
• Support commissioning and startup of site electrical systems.
• Develop power system for onboard modular plant and power conversion skid.
• Drive design improvements based on field data.
