Job summary

Invenergy LLC in Chicago seeks a Project Engineer for the Grid Modeling and Compliance team to perform power system and equipment modeling to ensure compliance with grid codes and reliability for renewable generation projects.

You will develop models in PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, and ASPEN Oneliner, coordinate with OEMs and engineering firms, and communicate findings to stakeholders. The role requires travel up to 15% and a US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience performing power system studies (e.g., power flow, transient stability, EMT, short circuit).
• Experience with PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD and ASPEN Oneliner.
• Knowledge of EHV/HV infrastructure (substations/switchyards, transmission lines, transformers, etc.).
• Ability to travel up to 15%.
• US work authorization without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform grid studies related to power electronic and power systems control for renewable projects.
• Develop power system models in PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN Oneliner and other tools.
• Tune and coordinate with OEMs to meet grid-code performance requirements.
• Stay updated on NERC standards and IEEE P2800.2 WECC references.
• Support interconnection and grid analysis with multiple teams and vendors.
• Prepare reports and presentations describing analyses, solutions, and value.
• Attend on-site and coordination meetings with ISO and utilities.
