Job summary

Tapestry, an Alphabet team, is seeking a senior engineer to act as a strategic technical bridge across engineering, product, and partner teams to shape the grid model strategy. You will transform multi-source grid data into CIM standards and drive model quality assurance.

With 5+ years in power systems modeling and CIM experience, you will optimize ingestion, validate models, and steer deployment in testing and production, collaborating with software and data teams in a hybrid U.S.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in power systems modeling and analysis.
• Deep knowledge of CIM and data conversion to CIM.
• Strong understanding of power flow, short circuit, transient stability, and economic dispatch.
• Experience with GIS data and operational datasets.
• Proficiency in programming languages (Matlab, Python, C++, Julia) and data tooling.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic technical liaison across engineering, product and partners.
• Lead data standardization and CIM model ingestion workflows.
• Validate ingested models for geolocation and simulability.
• Collaborate with software engineering to improve tooling and automation.
• Coordinate with product management for requirements and validation.
• Deliver deployed models to testing and production environments.
