Job summary

City of Houston is seeking a grounds maintenance position for Greenspace Management with location at various city parks. Responsibilities include operating a 45 HP or smaller mower/tractor, performing litter pickup, trimming, edging, and working with edgers and weed eaters while upholding safety procedures.

Qualifications include reading/writing basic math and six months of equipment operation experience; a CDL may be required.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience operating plant or automotive equipment.
• Grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• May require a valid Class A or B CDL depending on equipment assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a single flail mower, deck mower or tractor (45 HP or less).
• Perform grounds keeping duties including litter pickup, trimming and edging.
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment, following safety procedures.
• Assist with chemical spraying and special projects; maintain tools and restrooms.
• Other duties as assigned; essential personnel per policy.
