Job summary

City of Carrollton is seeking an Equipment Operator to support grounds maintenance and construction efforts. You will operate light and some heavy equipment with limited supervision, including mowers, weed eaters, blowers, chainsaws, and backhoes.

Responsibilities include routine preventive maintenance, transporting equipment to job sites, and assisting in grounds and facility tasks. A Texas driver’s license is required; CDL may be needed for certain assignments.

Qualifications

Operates a range of landscape and construction equipment.
Maintains awareness of safety protocols while operating machinery.
Performs routine preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
Transports equipment and materials to job sites as needed.
Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Operates general, small, and simple equipment for grounds, parks and athletic field work.
Performs routine preventive maintenance (greasing, oil, filters, tires, spark plugs).
Participates in grounds maintenance duties (mowing, trimming, trash pickup, irrigation tasks).
Participates in facility maintenance tasks (repairs, painting, cleaning restrooms).
Transports equipment/materials to job sites.
Performs other duties as assigned.
