Job summary

The Horticultural Society of New York is seeking a Greenhouse Program Manager to lead educational programming, community engagement, and public events at the Greenhouse and Education Center at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park. You will report to the Director of the Greenhouse and Education Center and supervise staff and interns while advancing horticulture-based learning for diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Experience managing program delivery and frontline staff.
• 2+ years of experience managing educational or community programs.
• Experience delivering curriculum and facilitating learning for diverse audiences.
• Strong operational skills for scheduling and staff management.
• Familiarity with horticulture, gardening, urban agriculture, or environmental education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead educational programming for diverse audiences and oversee curricula rooted in horticulture and environmental education.
• Manage on-site operations: scheduling, space preparation, and guest-facilitated sessions.
• Supervise educators, facilitators, and interns; provide coaching and professional development.
• Plan and execute public events, workshops, exhibitions, and open houses; coordinate with partners.
• Track participation metrics, prepare grant reports, and assist with budgets and planning.
