Job summary

Hydrite Chemical Co seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead design, construction, and start-up of a new Laurens, SC greenfield facility. You will guide capital projects, partner with contractors, and establish standards for reliability and operations.

The role transitions to ongoing project engineering, maintenance support, and continuous improvement, with emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration across Hydrite teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Additional education in Project Management is preferred.
• Minimum eight years of Process-Engineering and/or Project Engineering experience in chemical-processing industry is preferred.
• Minimum five years of direct technical management experience interfacing with contractors.
• Experience with greenfield projects, major expansions, or plant start-ups is strongly preferred.
• Site decommissioning experience (equipment removal, demolition) is a plus.
• Strong computer skills with PowerPoint, Word, Excel; AutoCAD and pipeline-sizing programs are a plus.
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support capital projects for the Laurens greenfield facility from design through start-up.
• Coordinate with corporate engineering, construction teams, and contractors on scope, schedule, and cost.
• Develop site standards, engineering practices, and documentation (P&IDs, specs, procedures).
• Drive commissioning and start-up activities, including troubleshooting and performance validation.
• Establish systems for reliability, maintenance, and operational readiness.
