Job summary

Hydrite Chemical Co. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the Laurens, SC greenfield development, construction, and start-up. The role transitions into ongoing site engineering after startup, supporting reliability and capital project execution.

The position requires hands-on leadership across front-end design, detailed engineering, and start-up, with interaction across corporate engineering, contractors, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum eight years in process engineering or project engineering in chemical processing.
• Direct technical management experience with contractors (5+ years).
• Experience with greenfield projects, expansions, or plant start-ups.
• Strong communication and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects from design through start-up for Laurens greenfield facility.
• Coordinate with corporate engineering, construction teams, and contractors.
• Develop site standards, engineering practices, and documentation (P&IDs, specs).
• Drive commissioning, start-up activities, and performance validation.
• Provide ongoing engineering support to operations post-startup.
