Job summary

The Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) is seeking a strategic GRC Business Analyst (QA) to help protect the integrity of Colorado’s tax administration. In this role you will design risk-based QA solutions, develop metrics, and lead projects that improve compliance and operational efficiency across tax units.

You will build data models with SQL and Python, analyze complex rules, and present findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7 years of professional experience in data extraction, analysis, or QA.
• Experience with QA programs and applying Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) principles.
• Ability to review tax data, accounts, refunds, and transactions for errors or fraud.
• Experience formulating and presenting strategic recommendations to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business environments across tax divisions to document processes and systems.
• Develop strategic solutions by reviewing state program data and presenting findings.
• Create KPIs to measure quality of tax processes and define success.
• Lead QA projects from start to finish with stakeholders.
• Audit tax accounts and detect fraud using data analytics and AI.
• Write queries and code in SQL and Python to extract and clean data and build dashboards.
• Improve screening logic to reduce false positives in fraud detection.
• Collaborate and pivot to support urgent team goals.
