Job summary

Simmons Pet Food is seeking an operator to prepare gravy batches and nocturnally manage pre-weighed super-micros for production according to approved formulas. The role involves reading batching sheets, staging ingredients, recording lot numbers and plan references, and maintaining clean, labeled totes throughout the process.

Ideal candidates will read, write, and understand English, perform weighing to card specifications, and ensure batch readiness while keeping the production schedule 15

Qualifications

• Read and interpret batching sheets and other production documents.
• English literacy required: read/write/speak/understand.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret batching sheets to determine orders and ingredients.
• Stage ingredients to be batched and clean totes for batching.
• Record lot numbers, supplier, date code, and plan numbers on batch sheets.
• Inspect each ingredient bag for damage, foreign material, lumps, odor, color or infestation.
• Weigh ingredients per card into tote, label totes, and stage them.
• Maintain production schedule by staying 15 batches ahead.
• Clean and maintain the gravy room, filtration system, and dry ingredient area.
