Job summary

Milestone Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Local Onsite Data Center Technician L2 for graveyard shifts in Santa Clara, CA. You will support deployment, maintenance, and repair of server, storage, and network hardware in a 24/7 data center environment.

You will operate with minimal supervision, respond to incidents, and assist with project deployments while maintaining uptime and adherence to procedures. The role requires overnight availability and strong technical documentation.

Qualifications

2+ years in a data center or IT operations role.
Experience with server hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Proficient in rack-and-stack deployments and structured cabling.
Experience with ticketing, asset tracking, and change management.
Able to work overnight in a production data center.

Responsibilities

Hardware Deployment & Installation: Unbox, stage, and prepare equipment for deployment; rack and stack servers, storage, and network devices; document cabling and power.
Operations & Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance; upgrade components.
Troubleshooting & Break/Fix: Diagnose and resolve server, storage, and hardware failures; escalate when needed.
Data Center Operations: Monitor infrastructure and respond to alerts; ensure safety and compliance.
Documentation & Asset Management: Maintain records in ticketing and asset systems; track hardware movements.
Team Support: Mentor L1 technicians and collaborate with engineering and project teams.
