Job summary

Milestone Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician II (L2) to support deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data center infrastructure. The role focuses on overnight operations, performing hardware installations, break/fix activities, diagnostics, and uptime assurance.

The position requires working graveyard shifts and may include weekend or holiday deployments. You will collaborate with engineers, network, and project teams to ensure operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a data center, IT operations, hardware support, or related technical environment.
• Experience performing server hardware installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of rack-and-stack operations and structured cabling.
• Experience with ticket management, asset tracking, and change management processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Unbox, stage, and prepare equipment for deployment.
• Rack and stack servers, storage systems, network devices, and supporting infrastructure.
• Install, route, and manage fiber and copper cabling according to data center standards.
• Label and document equipment, power connections, and cable runs.
• Support server migrations, rack builds, and infrastructure expansion projects.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
• Execute hardware upgrades including memory, CPUs, storage drives, NICs, power supplies, and GPUs.
• Diagnose and resolve server, storage, and hardware failures.
• Monitor data center infrastructure and respond to operational alerts.
• Maintain accurate records in ticketing and asset management systems.
• Provide technical guidance and support to L1 Data Center Technicians.
