Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to search for a passionate, relationship‑driven Community Outreach Coordinator for a mission‑driven nonprofit serving refugee communities in Chicago, IL. The role centers on grassroots outreach, volunteer recruitment, and building meaningful relationships that expand community engagement.

Reporting to the Chief Administration Officer, you will develop partnerships with volunteers, tutors, families, and donors, coordinate recruitment activities, and

Qualifications

• Experience in community outreach or nonprofit engagement.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Lead grassroots volunteer recruitment initiatives and canvassing.
• Cultivate relationships with local organizations, volunteers, tutors, families, and donors.
• Coordinate recruitment activities, interviews, materials, and onboarding documentation.
• Maintain engagement with volunteers and donors through ongoing communication and events.
• Collaborate with Outreach, Development, and leadership to implement recruitment strategies.
• Guide interns and support cross-functional priorities.
