Position Summary:

Sinomax USA has an immediate opening for an experienced and creative Graphic Designer to join our growing team. Our mission is to deliver comfort to the world, with a focus on sustainability and USA-made products. Our team is small, talented, and agile. This position will feed your creativity while expanding on your skillset in a competitive market.

The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior pre-press and file management skills, and be able to translate high-level creative briefs into designs that speak clearly to our target consumers across multiple brands. They will need to have an excellent eye for detail, and the ability to create new design concepts based on established standards. They will be motivated self-starters with the ability to work independently or with a team.

Position Description:

• Collaborate with creative leads on overall brand message.
• Meet with the marketing team weekly to discuss project developments and priorities to deliver quality work on time.
• Use colors, typography, shapes, textures, values, and lines to craft in-house brand standards for use on packaging, and across social platforms and websites.
• Conceptualize and develop designs for various traditional media, primarily sales decks, retail packaging, signage, and point-of-purchase displays, in addition to digital media like websites and ecommerce support.
• Edit and color correct product and lifestyle images in support of the above initiatives.
• Ensure all designs meet brand standards and accurately represent product or story.
• Test and review designs for usability and accuracy.
• Stay up to date with the latest design trends, tools and technologies within the market and the field of design.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in a creative field with experience in print design.
• Portfolio of previous work that displays an ability to turn an idea into a visual piece.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
• Proficiency in Microsoft, primarily PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Excellent eye for detail and design principles and ability to follow file management SOP.
• Excellent pre-press capabilities with established skills in print and digital file prep and final proofing.
• Hands-on experience in content sourcing, creation, and management.
• Digital manipulation expertise for photo editing and correction of product and lifestyle images.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business and consumer terms.
• Creativity combined with a strong analytical and strategic problem solving ability.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and integrate into an existing team.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED ABILITIES:

• Understanding of the basic bedding industry regarding visual and consumer trends.
• Social networking experience, analytics tools, and CRO knowledge.
• Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, and SEO.
• Extremely detail oriented.
• Knowledge of online marketing and understanding of major marketing channels.

OVERALL:

• Create consumer excitement and engagement with brands and product lines.
• Support key customer-facing products, events, and trade shows with print and digital media.
• Develop consumer-facing visuals for in-store, online and for tradeshows.
• Uphold the visual representation of the company, especially regarding corporate branding and owned brands.
• Collaborate with the marketing team towards concept development, commercialization, and promotion efforts.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to interpret visual information and communicate effectively by phone, email, and face-to-face interaction.

Works primarily remote/home-based where the employee is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment conducive to productivity that is free from distractions. The job is primarily sedentary with many hours of computer use. Must have reliable access to the necessary technology and internet connection to perform all job duties effectively. Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Education Experience/Certifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, or related field.
• Years of Experience: 3+ years, preferred.

• Provide a sample portfolio of work demonstrating ability to design on packaging die-lines.
• Provide a link to sample of work prepped for press, ideally packaging.
• Note that samples will not be shared, stored, or utilized for anything but review by hiring managers.
