Husqvarna Construction in Columbia, SC is seeking a Granulation Operator to handle the granulation of diamond with powdered metals. The role is essential for producing granulated diamond bonds used in diamond segment manufacturing. Typical shift is 6:00 am–2:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

The position requires basic industrial math and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment. PPE including N95 masks is required, and safety policies must be followed to ensure OSHA and EPA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to lift, push/pull and stand for long periods.
• Strong basic math skills required.
• Careful with safety and PPE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Mix metal powder, binder and solvent for granulation.
• Granulate diamond mix per process.
• Troubleshoot process anomalies and propose fixes.
• (DIAgrip only) Mix and pulverize powder.
• (DIAgrip only) Pre-coat diamonds with powder.
• (DIAgrip only) Build-up of diamond coating and screening.
• Follow OSHA and EPA regulations in granulation.
• Maintain tooling organization and equipment readiness.

Husqvarna Construction is hiring a Granulation Operator for its location in Columbia, SC. In this role, you will utilize tooling, equipment and materials for granulating diamond with powdered metals. This position is critical for production of granulated diamond bonds to be used in diamond segment manufacturing.

This is a 1** st **** shift position: Monday - Friday 6:00 am- 2:30 p.m.**

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Mixing of metal powder/binder/solvent.
• Granulation of diamond mix.
• Troubleshoot and recommend corrective actions for process anomalies.
• (DIAgrip only) Mixing and pulverizing of metal powder/binder/solvent.
• (DIAgrip only) Pre-coating of diamonds with metal powder/binder/solvent.
• (DIAgrip only) Build-up of diamond coating and screening of coated diamonds.
• Follow company policies to ensure compliance with OSHA Safety and Health Regulations in the granulation process.
• Follow company policies to ensure compliance with EPA and Environmental Regulations in the granulation process.

Machinery:

• Organization and selection of proper tooling to fulfill work requirements.
• Cleaning of equipment and preparation for subsequent orders.
• Maintain general knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing equipment operation.

Measurements :

• Quality checks on granulated diamond bonds to determine diamond content, weight and size.
• Weigh materials (diamond, metal powder, binder, solvent).
• Evaluate and confer with Quality Control on manufacturing process inspection techniques and standards.

CRITICAL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Strong knowledge of basic industrial math.
• Working knowledge of the metric system of weights and measurements.
• Working knowledge of diamond and design elements.
• Working knowledge of precision balance for weight measurement.

EDUCATION, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:

• High School or equivalent preferred
• Ability to lift, push/pull and stand for long periods of time.
• Strong basic math skills required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Above average exposure to manufacturing environment.
• Job tasks will require contact with powdered metal segments, sharp edges on machined components, powdered metal dust and grime associated with manufacturing operations.
• Must wear N95 Mask and dust mask and PPE in compliance with OSHA Regulations.
• Frequently lifting up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Walking and standing for long periods of time on concrete floors (full shifts).
• Daily, weekly, monthly and annual deadlines.
