Job summary

WVIA in the United States seeks a Manager of Grants to lead our grant strategy and drive funding for public media, education, and community programs.

You will be the lead grant writer, manage a contract writer team, and oversee the full grant cycle from research to reporting. The role requires strong writing, budgeting understanding, and the ability to build lasting funder relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.
• Grant writing experience required.
• Excellent writing and strong organizational skills.
• Persuasive communication, including public speaking and appearing on camera.
• Working understanding of budgets and basic accounting principles.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and community partners of diverse backgrounds.
• Eye on fundraising landscape and spotting opportunities early.
• Comfort with Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, email and web tools; experience with web and social media promotion.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Grants Department and align WVIA's mission with grant strategy.
• Manage a team of contract grant writers, set deadlines and quality standards.
• Research foundation, corporate, state and federal funding opportunities and select fits.
• Write winning proposals with program, finance and leadership input.
• Oversee full grant cycle: submissions, awards, compliance and reporting.
• Maintain grant trackers, funder databases, records and submission calendars.
• Build and steward funder relationships and develop new partnerships.
• Ensure Pennsylvania EITC eligibility reporting is accurate and timely.
