Job summary

Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA) in Kodiak, Alaska, is seeking a Grants Specialist responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing funding to support program priorities. This role manages the full grant lifecycle—from research and proposal development to submission and post-award administration.

You will collaborate with program staff, write narratives and budgets, ensure compliance with guidelines, and maintain organized documentation to support timely proposals and effective grant

Qualifications

  • Two years of grant writing or grant management experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and develop solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure grant funding aligned with priorities.
  • Manage full grant lifecycle: research, proposals, submission, and post‑award administration.
  • Collaborate with program staff to write narratives and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines and deadlines for all submissions.
  • Maintain organized records, files, and documentation for grants.
  • Draft letters of support, résumés, and required supplemental materials.
