Job summary

The State of Georgia’s Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security is seeking a Grants Specialist 1 to prepare and administer grant programs, including Hazard Mitigation and FEMA-funded projects.

Under general supervision you will review sub-recipient reports, ensure compliance, provide technical assistance, and help agencies secure and manage grant funds; occasional travel and after-hours on-call are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business/public administration/finance or related field.
• Two years of grants management experience, or six years in public funds administration.
• Experience with FEMA disaster grant programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and consult on the preparation of grant proposals.
• Administer Hazard Mitigation grant funds for the state or agency.
• Monitor sub-recipients' reports and grant compliance.
• Provide technical assistance to partners and sub-applicants; ensure timely submissions.
