Job summary

EisnerAmper seeks a Staff Consultant - FEMA in our Government Services Practice. The role focuses on FEMA funding programs (PA/IA, Haz Mitigation, IIJA/IRA) with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and financial management.

You will support complex disaster recovery projects for state and local clients, ensuring audit readiness and timely deliverables. Candidates should have FEMA program knowledge, 1+ year experience in disaster recovery, and a relevant bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in state and/or local disaster recovery programs administering FEMA funds.
• Knowledge of FEMA disaster programs, including related statutes, regulations, and policies and processes, and compliance and/or financial management functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Safety, Emergency Management, Disaster Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in maintaining compliance with FEMA regulations and 2 CFR 200, including assessing audit readiness, compliance and administrative gaps.
• Support clients in expediting complex closeout of multiple open disasters.
• Support client financial management and accounting functions, including time and cost unit operations, and cost tracking and reconciliation.
• Use knowledge and experience to help determine method of program implementation.
• Ensure timely and accurate development of all client deliverables.
• Actively engage in business development activities such as the identification and review of funding opportunities and development and submission of proposals.
• May be required to occasionally work extended hours, or travel to/work from different firm offices and/or client locations.
