Job summary

The Nevada Department of Public Safety — Office of Criminal Justice Assistance (OCJA) is recruiting for a Grants and Projects Analyst II in Carson City. This role plans, manages, and audits grant-in-aid programs, researches data, and writes applications to secure federal funding.

Daily duties include evaluating grant applications, ensuring compliance, and compiling performance reports while supporting education campaigns and community partnerships through workshops and presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field with two years of grants experience.
• High school diploma with four years grants experience, with at least two of the listed areas.
• One year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst I in Nevada State service or equivalent.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare grant applications to secure federal funding for State programs, including writing/amending program descriptions and compiling required financial data.
• Develop/evaluate subgrant applications, determine eligibility and recommend approval.
• Review and monitor recipient compliance to laws and regulations; provide guidance for uniform administration of funding.
• Research, write and implement grant program plans and projects within grant guidelines.
• Provide technical assistance and workshops to grant recipients regarding management and procedures.
• Provide orientation and grants management training to subgrantee staff to ensure ability to manage programs.
• Compile data and prepare reports on program activities and funding sources.
• Inspect subgrantees' operations to ensure adherence to objectives and report discrepancies.
• Prepare for and participate in federal/state grant compliance monitoring activities.
• Review audits or financial records to determine grant compliance.
