Job summary

The State of Nevada seeks a Grants and Projects Analyst II in Carson City to plan, organize and manage federal and state grant programs, process reimbursements and audit fund use. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of professional grants experience including at least two areas: writing grant applications; determining eligibility; researching and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent with four years of professional grants experience including at least two areas as described above; OR one year as Grants & Projects Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination.
• Experience evaluating grant applications; inspecting provider operations for compliance; and compiling performance reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare grant applications to secure federal funding for State and/or State-sponsored programs.
• Develop and evaluate applications for subgrants; determine eligibility and recommend approval.
• Review and monitor recipient and subgrantee compliance with laws and regulations; provide guidance on funding usage.
• Research, write, recommend and implement grant program plans and projects within grant guidelines.
• Provide technical assistance and training to grant recipients on operations, regulations and procedures.
• Prepare for and participate in federal and/or State grant compliance monitoring activities.
• Review audits or financial records to determine grant compliance.
• Compile data and prepare program activity and funding reports.
• Inspect subgrantee operations and identify discrepancies with improvement suggestions.
