Job summary

Fund for Southern Communities in Indiana seeks a Special Initiative Project Coordinator to advance grantmaking programs and collaboration across partners. The role includes coordinating SBGW grant activities, workshops, and donor engagement while supporting day-to-day office operations for the project.

The position is temporary/part-time and reports to the Executive Director, requiring strong communication, organization, and the ability to work across diverse groups in the region, including

Qualifications

• Progressive social change orientation required.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• College degree preferred; Master’s Degree a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of the non-profit sector and philanthropic community.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and database software.
• Ability to work within seasonal deadlines.
• Must be self-disciplined & self-starter.
• Ability to coordinate meetings and special events.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments/tasks.
• Results oriented; professional appearance as required.
• Good motivational and organizational skills.
• Substantial commitment of time, including some night meetings and travel (including weekends).
• Demonstrated ability to work with different types of people and organizations in the South.

Responsibilities

• Manage Community Investment Fund Initiative and related programs.
• Coordinate SBGW grant activities with partner cohorts.
• Coordinate technical assistance workshops and offerings for grantees & potential grantees.
• Manage the Grantee Partners Database Program and Donor Database.
• Develop PR materials and content for annual reports, newsletters, brochures, etc.
• Increase public awareness through outreach and events; update website content with webmasters.
• Work with Executive Director and anchor organizations to advance FSC’s mission and grow donor engagement.
