Job summary

Project Open Hand (POH) seeks a Grants Manager to lead corporate, foundation and government funding relationships in the SF Bay Area with a broader national vision. You will collaborate with the fundraising team to increase exposure, engagement, and revenues from institutional funders, driving strategic grant proposals and stewardship across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in development with healthcare, HIV/AIDS, seniors, or nutrition.
• Experience in foundation, corporate, and government grant seeking in Northern California.
• Familiarity with project management tools.
• Budget preparation, analysis, and monitoring experience.
• Strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills.
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Write letters of inquiry, develop and submit competitive grant proposals.
• Manage Grants Associates, consultants, interns and volunteers.
• Oversee financial resources for grants within Development Department.
• Develop grant funding strategies with Executive leadership.
• Conduct prospect research and funder landscape analysis.
• Track grant outcomes and portfolio performance.
• Lead briefing meetings and moves management.
• Collaborate with program leaders to fulfill grant requirements.
• Monitor grants and provide outcomes reporting to funders.
• Seek cause-related marketing and in-kind gift opportunities.
• Oversee grant program operations with the Database Administrator.
• Monitor trends in corporate, foundation, and government funding.
• Contribute to overall Development Department efforts.
• Represent POH at donor events and industry gatherings.
