We are currently seeking a Grants Management Specialist with the National Institutes of Health.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS. The contractor shall:

  • Provide technical assistance on grant program development and analysis, ensuring alignment with Institute policy, Federal regulations, and SOPs.
  • Review annual progress reports and new grant applications for policy/regulatory compliance and SOP consistency.
  • Evaluate competing and non-competing applications for accuracy and completeness, documenting and reporting any issues.
  • Draft and initiate correspondence to resolve administrative/management issues, clarify policies and procedures, and request additional information from grantee institutions.
  • Advise applicants and grantees on financial and business management matters related to their applications, and perform required corrections.
  • Conduct administrative and financial reviews; coordinate simple funding actions that initiate the award process.
  • Prepare, revise, and analyze budgets in Excel assessing allowability, allocability, and reasonableness and develop funding status reports.
  • Track award and funding status by maintaining official grant files and databases, uploading to IMPAC II eGrants, running queries, and producing analyses/reports.
  • Identify grants ready for final processing and support pre-/post-award activities by collecting/assembling documentation, ensuring pay plans, and resolving outstanding issues with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Keep staff informed of risks that could delay awards; communicate with Program Officers and Grantee SRAs; apply NIA/NIH/HHS policies, surface gaps, and contribute to procedure/policy updates, including revising award terms for budget/policy changes.

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:

  • Certifications & Licenses - NIH Grants Management Professional Certification
  • Field of Study - Business Management and Administration
  • Software - grant systems - SharePoint - MS Office - IMPAC II - QVR
  • Skills - Grant receipt and funding tracking, drafting summary statements, price/ cost analysis - Cooperative agreement management. - Grants involving human subjects - Grants policy and regulations - Grant Administration
