Job summary

County of Maui seeks a leader to head the Grants Management Division within the Department of Management. You will plan, oversee, and coordinate division activities, supervise program specialists and clerical staff, and ensure compliance with state and county regulations.

Responsibilities include directing budgeting, grant processes, and reporting, while coordinating with the Grants Review Committee and the Mayor on project selections and funding proposals.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in accounting, business or public administration, economics, sociology, or a related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible professional, administrative or analytical work experience, three of which must involve monitoring, evaluating and/or administering grants.

Responsibilities

• Develops and monitors budget, program objectives and long-range plans for the Grants Management Division.
• Develops procedures and performance standards for the program.
• Provides direction and technical assistance to the Grants Review Committee and to private non-profit Grant recipients.
• Supervises monitoring systems to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements.
• Prepares grant applications and contracts with grant recipients and ensures funds are used appropriately.
• Ensures required reports are compiled and submitted on time; reconciles financial accounts.
• Presents proposed projects to the County Council for funding.
