Job summary

FloridaCommerce in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Government Operations Consultant II to perform technical, consultative, and administrative work under supervision, supporting the Grants and Special Initiatives unit and local workforce partners.

You will develop training materials, research laws, prepare reports, manage grants, and coordinate activities for assigned projects with opportunities to lead special initiatives and engage with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of the methods data collection and analysis.
• Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
• Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
• Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
• Proficiency of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Ability to make oral presentations to workforce partners.
• Level 2 security background screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical, consultative, and administrative work independently under limited supervision.
• Provides direction, guidance and technical assistance to Florida Local Workforce Development Boards and partners.
• Develops training materials and conducts/trains as needed.
• Researches laws, statutes, regulations to update programmatic policies and guidelines.
• Evaluates the impact of statutes and regulations on operations; recommends action.
• Coordinates activities for projects and completes quarterly reports.
• Assists in development and operation of workforce programs.
• Writes and manages grant agreements and interagency agreements for projects.
• Participates in workgroups and special initiatives.
