Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with governmental accounting coursework; 5 years in government or grant accounting environment.
• Knowledge of GAAP and governmental accounting principles; familiarity with IRS regulations and FLSA.
• Experience with automated financial management systems and financial reporting.
• Ability to prepare financial statements and analyses for City management.

Responsibilities

• Review grant applications, reporting requirements, reimbursement requests, and grant compliance.
• Reconcile grant receivables and revenues.
• Prepare and present grant policy training and quarterly SEFA reports.
• Coordinate testing of Workday AP/AR/Payroll and collaborate with other departments.
• Prepare journal entries and month-end closings; ensure accuracy and adherence to City policies.
• Assist with annual external audits and year-end closeout processes.
