Job summary

The City of Houston is seeking a Financial Analyst III in the Grants Accounting area within the Administrative Support Division. The role focuses on grant management, financial reconciliation, and reporting to ensure compliance with grantors and regulations.

Three years of professional finance experience are required, with a Bachelor's degree in finance or related field. A Master's may substitute for two years. This is an on-site position with standard city workdays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Three (3) years of professional experience in finance, economics, budget analysis or related field are required.
• Master's degree may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between the Houston Health Department and the City of Houston Finance Department for grant-related financial matters.
• Coordinate grant award setup, monitor grant life cycles, and review/ process grant modifications, budget revisions, and fund transfers for compliance.
• Perform comprehensive reconciliations of grant financial records and SAP data to ensure accuracy and timely closeouts.
• Respond to financial inquiries, provide supporting documentation, and assist with audits to ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting standards.
• Prepare, review, and submit monthly, quarterly, annual, and final financial reports; monitor expenditures, revenues, and budget balances.
