Job summary

City of Houston is seeking a financial reporting professional to support the annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and month-end/year-end close. The role involves analytical work, policy compliance, and coordination with senior management.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in business/public administration or related field, 3 years of relevant experience, and proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office. CPA/CPA candidate and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
• Three years of professional administrative, financial or analytical experience are required.
• Graduate degrees may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ACFR preparation, monthly and year-end closing entries, and ACFR footnotes.
• Evaluate and implement GASB pronouncements as assigned.
• Oversee monthly general ledger analysis and reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure accuracy of accounting records.
• Serve as project liaison for financial reporting software integration.
