Job summary

Medix™ is seeking a finance professional to manage budgets, compliance for sponsored and non-sponsored programs, and year-end closeouts. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, GAAP/NIH grants policy understanding, and the ability to coordinate with investigators and leadership to optimize funding and reporting.

The position supports hybrid work arrangements with 2 in-office days and 3 remote days, and welcomes candidates with experience in grants management and complex

Qualifications

• Proven ability to perform variance analyses and forecasting.
• Experience interpreting GAAP and NIH grants policy statements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, confidential materials handling.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.
• Proficiency with standard PC software and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial and compliance activities for sponsored and non-sponsored programs, including developing, monitoring, and adjusting budgets and conducting year-end closeouts.
• Interpret financial data, perform variance analyses, monitor monthly expenditures, and create forecasting and trending reports.
• Review, approve, and verify allowability for charges, process cost transfers, and reconcile payroll distributions.
• Collaborate with Principal Investigators and leadership on progress reports, budget modifications, and funding strategies.
• Assist with audit inquiries and maintain documentation consistent with general ledger standards.
